Does investing intimidate you? You know it’s necessary to secure your future, but the thought of potentially losing money is scary.

Or maybe you have money parked in a savings account not doing much for you? There has to be some way to invest that will do better than the meager returns of a savings account, right?

Perhaps you have investments that are doing terribly and what’s worse, they’ve always given you less-than-impressive returns that don’t even keep up with inflation. Every year, your money’s buying power shrinks!

What can you do?

There are two pieces of good news for you. First, you’re not alone.

Women everywhere say the same thing when it comes to investing: They don’t feel confident and they’re afraid of losing money. Rest assured it’s not just you.

Second, the system isn’t impenetrable; it’s made to look and sound that way by an industry with a vested interest in maintaining the status quo!

There is a great deal of research that shows us how to invest in a way that is simple and effective, regardless of what your background is or how busy you are.

It doesn’t matter if you failed Grade 7 math or you have seven kids and two businesses to run; it’s totally doable in less time than it takes to match your kids’ socks after a load of laundry.

When you avoid investing, as women often do out of fear, you harm your financial future as well as your ability to create good options for those moments when life happens.

In the book Shortchanged: Why Women Have Less Wealth and What Can Be Done About It, we learn that on average, women have less than 50% of the wealth that men have. This has a huge impact on our ability to thrive when faced with adversity – loss of job, health issues, change in marital status, and so on.

One of the biggest obstacles to developing our net worth is the fact that we tend to delegate investing and larger financial decisions to the men in our lives on the mistaken belief that they’ll do a better job.

In fact, the data clearly show that when women get down to investing, they do as good a job as men, or better.

Make money work for you

What if you could turn your money into an employee and confidently make it work for you? How empowering would that be?

What if you also learned that it’s not that difficult and can be achieved with only a handful of hours of work per year?
