Understanding Taxes to Ensure You Pay Less

Ottawa - Bayview Yards, 7 Bayview Rd, Ottawa, ON K1Y 2C5

Nov 27, 2018 | 7:00pm-9:00pm

Are you satisfied with the amount of income tax you pay? Do you know for certain that you have optimized your finances to pay the very least amount possible?

One of the big differences between the wealthy and the middle class is found in the way they approach taxes. The wealthy understand how important taxes are to their bottom line and they set up their finances to pay as little as possible.

What if you could learn to do the same?

In this month's Women's Money Group meetup, we have invited a Chartered Accountant from Logan Katz LLP to help us understand and navigate the world of taxes.

How much tax do we pay in Canada?

What is the relationship between income levels and the amount of tax we pay?

What's the difference between federal taxes and provincial taxes? What are the rates?

What tax-sheltering vehicles exist and how can we make use of them?

What deductions are allowed for salaried people? The self-employed? Hourly workers?

How do taxes apply to investments? Are different investments taxed differently?

These are just some of the questions that we will address with the guidance of our special guest.

Best of all, we'll share this information using an interactive, case-based approach. By the end of the meeting, you will have applied some of the information learned to real-life case studies.

As part of the  November 27th event, you will also have complimentary access to a webinar on December 11 th to follow up on your progress and review the information from the meetup.

There's a community of like-minded women who are here to support you. Those who are WMG members will have access to me for additional Q&A's through the closed Facebook group.

If you're concerned or embarrassed about the thought that you'll have to disclose personal information, you can rest easy. This is a safe zone where you participate only if you choose to. If you'd prefer to sit quietly and simply absorb the discussions, that's perfectly fine.

If you're new to the Women's Money Group, you can attend your first meeting for only $20* - half the cost of the monthly membership! In addition, if you join the WMG within two months, we will credit you the cost of the first meeting, making it free!

If you've already been to one meeting, reserve a seat through this page and then head over to the YFL website to purchase a membership: www.YourFinancialLaunchpad.com/Membership.
