Investing: Understanding the Factors that Affect Your Returns
Ottawa - Bayview Yards, 7 Bayview Rd, Ottawa, ON K1Y 2C5
Sep 25, 2018 | 7:00pm-9:00pm
Ladies, are you frustrated by investing? Do you sometimes wonder why your funds aren't doing well?
How is it that some people manage such great returns while you struggle to make your money grow?
In this month's Women's Money Group meetup, we will help you understand what affects your results and how to set yourself up to succeed with your investments.
Here are just some of the topics we'll cover:
- What's the difference between buying stocks versus mutual funds?
- How does compound interest work?
- How do you deal with risk, and how does risk work anyway?
- What does asset allocation mean and why does it matter?
- What does research have to say about which investments to choose?
- How important are fees? Do they have an impact?
- What fees am I paying anyway?
This is such an important topic, with significant consequences for women, that we will continue to address it over several meetings. This month, we'll do a deep dive into the factors that affect your returns and what you can do to improve your results.
Through an interactive, case-based approach, you'll learn what research has to say about the various factors involved in investing.
My main mission with this ongoing series on investing is to grow both your understanding and your confidence.
Why? Because a lack of confidence is hurting women's willingness to grow their wealth, according to research from the U.S. and my own research project.
As part of the September 25th event, you will also have complimentary access to a webinar on October 16th to follow up on your progress. There's a community of like-minded women who are here to support you. Those who are WMG members will have access to me for additional Q&A's through the closed Facebook group.
If you're concerned or embarrassed about the thought that you'll have to disclose personal information, you can rest easy. This is a safe zone where you participate only if you choose to. If you'd prefer to sit quietly and simply absorb the discussions, that's perfectly fine.
If you're new to Women's Money Group, you can attend your first meeting for free. If you've already been to one meeting, you need to reserve a seat through this page and you'll also need to get a membership through my website at www.YourFinancialLaunchpad.com/Membership. You can select a monthly membership for $39/month plus tax, or an annual membership for $347 plus tax. The website lists the many perks included in each membership.
If you are a member, access to the meeting is included in your membership. You just need to reserve a seat through the link below.

Here's what one member has to say about the meetings: "I loved your class last night. It makes me feel like it's possible for me to understand this stuff in time. Your group is great for me as I need external motivation to learn it. I wouldn't pick up a book on the topic but your class makes it very interesting. You are a very engaging speaker."
Seats are limited, so be sure to book your spot today! Members, if you bring a guest, your name will be entered in a draw to win a copy of my book, Protect Your Purse. Please note that guests need to register separately under their own name.
